can you put vinyl siding over alluminum siding some say no ?

      I don’t think so, why would want to? rip it off. depending on where you live it might be a good ideal anyway, so you can look at the structure better for any pest/mold issues.

      Yes. In addition to the fact that the siding win’t be properly attached to the framing, the aluminum and vnyl expand at different rates. This could lead to major buckling of the vinyl siding. If you are going to do a job that size, you’re a lot better off doing it properly.

      you would have to rip off the aluminum in order to make the vinyl “lay” right. if you put it directly on top of the aluminum - it would not look right.

      best thing is to start from a clean slate and rip off the old stuff.
