Cedar siding above heat pump?

My cedar siding above my heat pump looks awful. It faces direct sunlight, as well.

Does it look dreadful because of the air blowing on it during the winter from the heat pump? (Almost like steam)

Heat pumps both add and remove moisture from the air in addition to adding and removing heat. The siding is being aged by the temperature and moisture changes. A good sealer applied often is about the only answer unless you can move the unit.
