Can you paint Vinyl Siding?

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007
Amber asked:

Well, I bought a house, and it has some ugly yellow vinyl siding. I was wondering however, instead of buying new siding (the siding is already new anyway), if I could just paint it. I would like a cobblestone color (kind of like a brown).
What kind of paint would I use?
How would I go about doing it?

Any help is appriciated!

Carla

How to scrape paint off of old cedar siding?

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007
wood_vulture asked:

I’m buying an 80-year-old house with original cedar siding on it… and original Lead-Based paint.

I know I have to catch the LBP, but what’s the best tool to use for the purpose of the actual scraping?

I don’t want to damage the shingles.

Thanks in advance.

HOW would I do this natural log problem?

Sunday, November 18th, 2007
Devil’s Advocette asked:

Directions: Solve by isolationg the natural log and exponentiating both sides. Express answer in terms of e. Then use calculator to approximate solution.

ln(x+1) - lnx = 1

I know how to do these when it’s one natural log, but am confused on how to do it with two of them. Do log properties apply to natural logs?

The answer is supposed to come out to 1/(e-1) = aprox. 0.58
Please show me HOW to do this, thank you.
kept getting screwy answers lol, thanks for the help

Green stuff on vinyl siding?

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007
glenbarrington asked:

I’ve got ‘Green stuff’ growing on the north side of my house. I assume it is moss, it is up very high on the north side where it gets very little direct sunlight. Does anyone know of a chemical I can add to the water supply in a power sprayer that will kill this stuff but won’t damage the Vinyl siding?

Software that allows others to log on and view your screen as you work?

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007
health1_au asked:

I am an instructor and want to allow students to log onto my screen as I go through their online assignments and (as I) comment on them (I use the comment function of MS word for this). I want to set up a running blog- or chat-style commentary on one side of the screen for students, and/or me, to also use. I want to allow them to see my screen, a la NetOP, but not have access to my files or the ability to operate my computer (NetOP allows full control). Basically, I want them to have screenshots that update rapidly in real-time, plus the chat-style session on one side… they’ll probably have to log in using my IP address. What software can make this happen?

Vinyl Siding vs. Repainting Existing Aluminum ?

Sunday, November 11th, 2007
ProudArmyWife2005 asked:

Well, we’ve got the existing old school 7 layers of peeling yucky painted siding and we’re trying to weigh our options. So here’s my questions:

1) Is it cost effective to replace Aluminum with Vinyl?

2) Is Vinyl truly as costly as we keep hearing?
**Home is small 1,100 sq.ft with a 2.5 car Garage**

3) Is painting this existing siding a wise choice since the current paint job on it looks terrible?

We just need to make it more a home, right now it’s gorgeously all new and redone inside and on the outside it still resembles the day we bought it in forclosure. Aside from my green grass I busted my butt on last summer.

Please advise.

Samantha
