Where does the water go if it enters the j-channel joining vinyl siding to a window?

What prevents it from getting behind the vinyl siding, particularly if the siding at the bottom corners of the window are not tight against the window?

How accurate is this bid for vinyl siding?

I’m looking for accurary on the labor cost for 7 to 8 squares depending on deduction of windows and doors. 2 walls of 9 x 20, one wall of 9 x 28 and a triangular top that is 13 x 28. Medium grade Dutch-lap siding. Including J-Trim, Fascia, vinyl soffits and corner trim. Georgia

$1100 for materials
$4250 labor
