About Siding

I can find some siding, but the grooves are much deeper than mine.

Im trying to install 12′x8″ lap siding over masonite. I have very little help and experience and even less funds. I am mechanically inclided as an electrician. I was told to use a coil nailer to prevent damaging the suface of the siding but all the coil nailers I see are for roofing.
And what size compressor and tank size should I get. Its a small home. Any suggestions is appreciated.
