How do I install vinyl windows with existing aluminum siding?

Posted by admin
Mandy asked:

I have bought all new vinyl windows for my home which has aluminum siding. I read that I need a special tool called a J-tool to remove the siding correctly, but I cannot find the tool anywhere. I have called all of the hardware stores in my area (Eugene, Or) and none of them carry such a tool. I’ve been unable to find the tool online; I have only been able to find tools for vinyl siding and have been told these tools wont work on the aluminum siding.

Did you get Replacement windows??? Replacement windows replace your existing ones and you dont have to touch your siding. They go into the existing frames from the inside of your house. If you got the windows with the nailing fin on those are New Construction for new houses. You might be able to cut the fin off and install the windows from the inside of the house. Im not sure but you should talk to someone who knows more about windows. I wish you luck!
