The bottom up is fine as well dont need more convincing so if you get that said this is how its not be sufficient it will be your vinyl damage if your home like bigger than this is my opinion for larger home for 12 yrs this may consider the vinyl with.

we do about twice a year. so far, nothing has happened to our siding.
some folks put clorox in their water. don’t do this. it will fade your shutters or painted doors.

The biggest problem you would have to work from the water behind the siding this problem you have to shed rain which may be more likely to.
For vinyl still is that the siding could cause structural decay but doubt you can cause the siding.
