log mathamatics?

3200 = 5700(0.6)^t
You can take log of both sides
log 3200 = log5700 + t*log0.6 This is a linear equation in t
so t= 1.130161327 with the simplest scientific calculator

can you please demostrate how to get this number using TI-83

      there should be a log button on the bottom of the calculator…three up of the On button…just do the equation the way you did it…

      put in the calculator…log(3200) - log(5700) and then you would divide by log(0.6) make sure you divide AFTER you substract…hope this helps…
