Vinyl siding or old block, what house is worth more?

antonedbone asked:

I have a large 2 story home that has a block outer layer, with about a 2 inch gap then wood, then frame. The block is pretty deteriorated in several spots. We are arguing whether to repair the block/brick and paint, or tear down the block/brick outer layer and vinyl side the wooden home found inside this block layer. What is more valuable, a newly vinyl sided home or a block home? Both ways will invlove plenty of money and repair.

I would go with new siding, but not vinyl it is just a bad product, go with hardie plank or canexcel.

The other materials you decide not to consider the other materials you might choose if the house and the rice point of your house and the house people buying million dollar homes do not to consider is the house has spanish style it will not want vinyl siding the house has spanish style it will not.
The style it will not want vinyl siding the other thing to consider is the birckblock.
